Handmade in Instagram: how to make money from children’s toys
How to sell handmade goods on Instagram
A few recommendations for aspiring entrepreneurs:
- Don’t use add-on services to boost activity in your account. You need sales to real customers, not just the number of followers;
- Any product needs to be beautifully packaged. Beautiful packaging can bring no less emotions than the product itself. And vice versa, ugly packaging can spoil the experience. Therefore, think about the way in which the customer will receive the product;
- Think up your own hashtags to promote your brand. Customers can use them in the future to post reviews and other information on their pages;
- If you have a lot of products, create tags for each category to make it easier for customers to find what they need. You can put your product assortment by category in your anchored posts;
- Use Instagram’s business card feature to attract offline customers;
- Use Stopis to show your products “from every angle” in the video;
- Be aware of seasonality in sales: the classic slump is in January and during the summer months. Peak sales of children’s toys are in December, when everyone buys New Year’s gifts.
