Home for photo shoots: how to open a photo studio
How to choose a location for a photo studio
If your studio will be located in the center of the city – it is ideal. But it is not so easy to achieve this ideal: firstly, there are many requirements to the premises of the photo studio, which are not so easy to meet; secondly, renting premises in the center is not a pleasure and not a cheap one. So you can consider options located in the city center, but on less passable streets. Get far away, in the industrial areas, to which you have to get a couple of hours, not the best option.
Photo studio in the bedroom community also will not place, because it does not provide the services of primary importance, to attract residents of nearby houses. You have to attract people from all over the city, so the most logical would be to give preference to the center.
Now turn to the observance of all the requirements for the very premises of the studio:
- High ceilings – from 3 meters;
- The area of the room is not less than 60 square metres, the recommended area is 100 square metres;
- the length of the studio is not less than 8-10 meters;
- the required repairs must be cosmetic, otherwise you will spend a lot of money and time on redecoration;
- The space should not be divided by vertical beams;
- when choosing flooring, you should give preference to a dark color and high wear resistance. Otherwise, the floor will quickly lose its attractive appearance.
When the room is chosen, you can think about the layout. The room needs to be divided into several zones, each of which will accommodate a location for shooting. A good photography studio should have at least three locations. Also, don’t forget that in addition to the work space, there should be an area for receiving visitors and a toilet.
